Still Waiting...

The journey toward having a published book is everything they say it is - waiting, waiting, and more waiting.

Currently, I am waiting to hear back from two different publishers. One has a copy of the picture book version of The Naughty Boy Factory, and the other has the early chapter book version. The first publisher hooked me up with an illustrator who has done some early sketches, so that gives me hope. But the wait feels endless.

It is what it is, and it's the same for everyone.

So... I'll just keep waiting. And waiting. And waiting.

Waiting is the pits! I've done a picture book about what happened to children in the cities in England during WWII and am doing a MG on the same characters, different POV. Which one did you do first?

Sharon,

I did the picture book first. When I realized picture books are a hard sell right now, I expanded it into an early chapter version about the same length as the Cam Jansen books.

We'll have to stay in touch...What grade do you teach? I taught third and fourth grade for 17 years....

I'm going to follow you...if you get a chance to check out my blog, that would be great. It's caused Random Thoughts...

I teach high school English, mostly Junior composition, and I love it! I've been working for a couple of years now on getting The Naughty Boy Factory published, and it looks like I may be getting close - fingers crossed, prayers spoken!
I love, love, love your book idea. Don't give up on that. I train teachers in the use of picture books in all subjects and at all grade levels, but I've never seen one on that subject matter - love it!
