Say what?!

I was given the Creative Writer (aka, Bald-Faced Liar) Award by Susan Fields, who is one super-sweetheart of a blogger and from Natalie Murphy, my favorite Canadian, and from the fabulously fun Jay @ Jay Eckert's Sharpened Pen! For this, I am required to share 5 lies + 1 truth, and you are required to guess the truth. Good luck!

1. I was a ski instructor in college.

2. My father was a Seattle policeman and guarded three different presidents and two rock stars while they visited Seattle.

3. My favorite baseball team is the New York Yankees.

4. I once sat next to Hall of Fame, wide receiver Steve Largent in church.

5. I write YA historical fiction.

6. My family took a trip to Ireland when I was twelve to visit the area where my grandpa was born.

I'm going to share this award with:

Tracy @ A Blissful Life
Jennie Englund
Nisa @ Wordplay, Swordplay

Let me know what your guesses are, and check back tomorrow for the truth!

This award really cracks me up. You know, it's funny how many blogs I follow with no real idea what actual genre most people write. #6 seems almost too obvious. But maybe I'm just thinking too hard about it. Let's go with #6 or #1 because that would have been fun! Or 2. Okay, I'm horrible at guessing.

Six seems to be the popular choice, and I was leaning toward that one as well. I guess I'd be happy with any of them besides #3. Definitely not a fan of the Yankees!!

Is it #3? I can't tell! I think it is. I'm going with 3. No 3. Wait...I'm back to 3.

And I just realized I never said thank you and so I'm completely mortified. Thank you for the award, Shannon!

I'm guessing #6 because I want it to be true and it's almost St. Pat's day!

I'm guessing the one about church, but I'm hoping it's number one. Ski instructor? How cool is that?

I'm going to guess number 4 is the truth.

Hmmmmmmmmm, um, er, uh, GOT IT! It's gotta be number 1-6. Did I get the right answer? hehe

Oh alright! I guess you could write historical fiction picture books, but not likely. Are you Irish? Or did you marry Irish? See--this brain is always thinkin'. Okay, Steve Largent. Does he live in Montana? It's either 1 or 3. Right?????

She leaves mumbling something about, "one day I will get one of these right." =)

Ooh, this is a fun one! Thanks for sending it my way. I can't wait to think up some good lies. Er, I mean, creative sentences.

Because I stink at these kinds of things, I'm totally going to go with #2 because it sounds fun and I hope your dad got some cool stuff from them that you can sell on ebay for a million dollars.

I'm going to go with #1 as the truth. Some of them I know are lies, but I still have to guess... :)

I'll guess #2, because that would be cool.

Congrats! I'm guessing #5, since I thought you wrote children's picture books?!?!?

Those are good. Hmmm... I think I'll say the trip to Ireland is the truth :)

I'd like to go with #6 for $300 Alex. I mean, what is #6?

Shannon O'Donnell said...

I love how varied the guesses are, and some of you are right. :-)

I'm picking #3 as the lie because it is so straightforward.

Kelly Polark said...

Hmmmm... 6?

VR Barkowski said...

I'm going to go with #2 because I used to live in Seattle and I like thinking your father was a police officer there.

Sharon K. Mayhew said...

I'm going with number 5 because really awesome people like Laurie Halse Anderson (and me) write hf. I'm pretty sure you are as cool as her!

How did I miss this yesterday! Oh yeah, that 40 hour a week job interfered again!

I loved them all, I'm having a hard time getting my brain to catch on today- I can't wait to see the results.
