Wish. Work. Laugh.

To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
~ Reba McEntire

This is so true for writing.

First, we have to wish the dream.

Then, we have to work and work and work and work
Start over.
Work and work and work and work . . .

. . . which means, we need to have a good sense of humor and a lot of comic relief along the way.

Only the ones who are willing to hang on tight and to shrug off the inevitable criticism and rejections along the way will make it to the dream.
Wish. Work. Laugh.

How is your funny bone holding up these days?

I try and laugh whenever I can - I think aging is reversed whenever we do. ;)

Great quote.

My funny bone is a little tired right now. I think it will pep right up after I get in some more blog reading.

Such a timely post, as I begin another round of edits! Hmm, I laugh a lot, but do I laugh while working on the MS? Maybe I should...

Oh, Shannon. YES. This is such an amazing quote--and ESPECIALLY about the funny bone. It's a hard thing to hold onto when things get rough, but it's so so so important to keep a sense of humor.

Hope you get to laugh a lot today <3

Watching comedies such as Zoolander and Anchorman is definitely keeping my funny bone in good shape. :)

Thankfully my house is frequently filled with laughter. It certainly helps with all the uncertainty, waiting, and long nights with writing!

That is so true. My funny bone feels a little overworked.

The three bones is great advice. My spouse is dealing with a new book and knows the value of laughter.

I could use a few more laughs. Maybe a joke blogfest?

This is great advice, love it! My funny bone is doing great lately. I'm learning to relax and take myself less serious and it's been like a gift. :)

Yay for the funny bone! I'm trying to develop mine in the face of revisions. :)

The funny bone is one of the most vital pieces of anatomy we've got! Especially if we're teachers - it's the only way to survive and enjoy! :)

I try to exercise my funny bone every week on my blog to keep myself from feeling too overwhelmed. It also reminds me that I can put a good sentence or two together.
Which reminds me...!
Great reminder!
