Marvelous Middle Grade Monday - Cabin Fever + Giveaway

***UPDATE***
WINNER:  Brenda Demko!!
Marvelous Middle Grade Monday

Shannon Whitney Messenger decided it was time to give middle grade stories the attention they deserve, and "Marvelous Middle Grade Mondays" was born.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Cabin Fever
 by Jeff Kinney

Blurb:
Greg Heffley is in big trouble. School property has been damaged, and Greg is the prime suspect. But the crazy thing is, he’s innocent. Or at least sort of.

The authorities are closing in, but when a surprise blizzard hits, the Heffley family is trapped indoors. Greg knows that when the snow melts he’s going to have to face the music, but could any punishment be worse than being stuck inside with your family for the holidays?
My 4th grade son read the entire book the night I brought it home, and my 2nd grade daughter devoured it the next day. We all know these books sell themselves, so I don't need to convince you of their greatness. I would like to give away a copy to one lucky commenter, though. But NOT my copy! He he.

Simply follow my blog and leave a comment by the end of the day Wednesday. I'll announce the winner on Thursday's post.

** Others who can be counted on for MMGM: **
 Happy Monday!

Sounds like a fun read. I'll let someone with younger kids get the chance to read it.

My son read all of these books, but sadly I think he's out grown them. He was always reading us quotes from the books...which is a high testament in my opinion. :)

I haven't actually read any of these, but I think they look brilliant for children. I imagine my nephew, given a couple more years, would enjoy these.

My 11 yo loved the book but won't let his 9 yo brother borrow it. I keep telling him that I bought the book so I get to decide who gets to read it.

So far that's working real well. My 9 yo still hasn't gotten to read it yet. Grrrr.

I am so embarrassed..I have not yet read Diary of a Wimpy Kid! I need to remedy this, because it's so hugely popular with the MG age group!

YAY for Cabin Fever! I already have a copy, of course, so please give it to someone else.

We've sold a ton of these books since the pub date. It may turn out to be our biggest holiday book. And you're right: they sell themselves!

I must get my daughter into this series. We were extras in Wimpy kid III and I think she auditioned for I and II.

My son read all the books, but this one. Last weekend, we listened to the first one on the way to New York for Thanksgiving. I didn't think it would be funny without the pictures, but it was!

Hi Shannon! WOW it's been waaaay too long since I stopped by. I've missed Middle Grade Mondays (and yes I know it's all my fault but I like to blame school.)

I haven't read these books yet but every time I see them, the covers alone make me giggle :D

I hope all is well,
Jen

Please count me in for this. I have such a hard time getting my daughter to sit down and read but this is the one series she reads on her own without prompting. I'd love for her to have the new one to read. Thank you for the opportunity!
