Oh, my gosh, you guys!!
Do you see this . . . ?
This series is one I would NEVER have picked up on my own. I read it because my current author crush, Karen Amanda Hooper, told me I should. She even insisted I bump it up on my way-too-huge reading pile. So . . . I did. I mean, Karen told me to!
I positively devoured this series. When I wasn't reading, I was thinking about it. It was the first thing to pop into my head in the mornings. And now, I'm impatiently waiting for the sixth and final book. SO. FREAKING. GOOD!!!
Harper Madison isn't like other girls. She has extraordinary powers, but her inability to control them has gotten her kicked from so many foster homes she's lost count. Shadowford Home is her last chance, and she hopes Peachville High will be the fresh start she needs. But when evidence ties her to the gruesome murder of a Demons cheerleader, Harper discovers this small town has a big secret.
Let me tell you, the blurb does not begin to tap into the layers of this series. I originally gave the books 4 out of 5 stars, but after book three I had to go back and change my rating to five stars. They are just too addictive for a 4 star rating. The storyline is stunningly original. The character relationships are complex and wonderful. The setting and visual imagery is fantastic. The world building in book five is exceptional.
I can't fully explain the effect of these books on me, but I can tell you I LOVED THEM!
