You Have Done What You Could

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today, let go of  everything that went wrong this week. Anything that didn't turn out as expected, that disappointed, that bruised your spirit even a little, LET IT GO.

Enter the weekend free of those albatrosses and let your new lightness of being pour from your fingertips and into your writing. If you need a little encouragement, Wordsworth's daffodil poem always makes my heart smile. Here's the final stanza:

". . . For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They [daffodils] flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils."

Let your hearts dance this weekend.

  4. I think it's important to make a conscious decision to let things go. A new week is beginning so why not enjoy it and all it has to offer! :O)

  5. Congrats, Juju!

Letting go is major to growing. I'm going to link this post to my Oasis post for Monday. I've already written it, and it's along the same lines. It's about finding peace--a sanctuary--in letting go.

  28. Congrads Juju. You're lucky day. :)

My heart is very burdened. (The insurance denied coverage on one of Christopher's eye medicines. This is the beginning of the health care reform that will so hurt him. They will refuse to pay for his meds, because in obama's eyes, Christopher doesn't matter.) The cost? $400.00 for a one month supply. So I needed this. Thanks, bff.

  29. Typo above, Juju. Your lucky day. You yourself are not a lucky day, cause you are not a day. SHEESH. I hate typos.

  34. Lynnette,

It’s nice knowing a little more about you. As for me

    1. I write romantic suspense, women’s fiction and young adult
    2. Let’s just say I read across several genres but haven’t yet got my feet wet with anything Paranormal.
    3. I’m published, but looking for an agent.
    4. Yes, I work with a critique group.
    5. Editing has been a challenge. I have to be in the mood for it, which isn’t often. Marketing is another thing I’m learning as I go. I feel like a pimp every time I mention my novel, but I know it’s necessary to get my book and name noticed.
    6. Taking time to learn the craft and to continue learning are important lessons.

  35. My heart was most definitely dancing this weekend.

  36. Hi Shannon -

Excellent advice. The only thing I'd add: Bring those cares to the Lord, and allow Him to take their weight.

    Blessings,
    Susan :)
