Wish. Work. Laugh.

To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.
~ Reba McEntire

This is so true for writing.

First, we have to wish the dream.

Then, we have to work and work and work and work
Start over.
Work and work and work and work . . .

. . . which means, we need to have a good sense of humor and a lot of comic relief along the way.

Only the ones who are willing to hang on tight and to shrug off the inevitable criticism and rejections along the way will make it to the dream.
Wish. Work. Laugh.

How is your funny bone holding up these days?

  2. Great quote.

My funny bone is a little tired right now. I think it will pep right up after I get in some more blog reading.

  7. Oh, Shannon. YES. This is such an amazing quote--and ESPECIALLY about the funny bone. It's a hard thing to hold onto when things get rough, but it's so so so important to keep a sense of humor.

Hope you get to laugh a lot today <3

  9. Thankfully my house is frequently filled with laughter. It certainly helps with all the uncertainty, waiting, and long nights with writing!

  19. I try to exercise my funny bone every week on my blog to keep myself from feeling too overwhelmed. It also reminds me that I can put a good sentence or two together.
    Which reminds me...!
    Great reminder!
