Random Act of Kindness BLITZ!

A smile. An encouraging word. A thoughtful gesture. Each day people interact with us, help, and make our day a bit brighter and full. This is especially true in the Writing Community

Take a second to think about writers you know, like the critique partner who works with you to improve your manuscript. The writing friend who listens, supports and keeps you strong when times are tough. The author who generously offers council, advice and inspiration when asked.

So many people take the time to make us feel special, don't they? They comment on our blogs, re-tweet our posts, chat with us on forums and wish us Happy Birthday on Facebook.

Kindness ROCKS!

To commemorate the release of their book The Emotion Thesaurus, Becca and Angela at The Bookshelf Muse are hosting a TITANIC Random Act Of Kindness BLITZ. And because I think KINDNESS is contagious, I'm participating too!

I am randomly choosing Natalie Aguirre. Natalie is one of the best out there at author interviews--she's amazing! AND she is uber-generous with her giveaways! Almost every interview she does--and there are A LOT of them--she gives away the book. I adore her for SO MANY reasons

Natalie, for my RAOK gift, I'm offering any book or pre-order of your choice, including the Emotion Thesaurus!

I really appreciate Natalie, who blogs  at Literary Rambles. If you have a minute, please stop in and tell her how awesome she is!

Do you know someone special that you'd like to randomly acknowledge? Don't be shy--come join us and celebrate! Send them an email, give them a shout out, or show your appreciation in another way. Kindness makes the world go round. :)

Becca and Angela have a special RAOK gift waiting for you as well, so hop on over to The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up.

Have you ever participated in or been the recipient of a Random Act Of Kindness?  Let me know in the comments!

  5. Great news and congrats to Natalie's well deserved award. She does rock. I have been the recipient of several random acts of kindness, some of which I wouldn't have survived my single-mom-with-five-kids days. One day while I was busy loading up groceries on the checkout belt, returning gum that my four year old grabbed off the shelf and telling my seven year old to stay put, a nice gentleman, who frankly, I couldn't even tell you what he looked like, did the most amazing thing. When the total came up and I went digging for my food stamps(a horribly embarrassing thing to have to do), the cashier informed me that the bill had been paid already. When I asked her what she meant she just said, someone already paid for your groceries. By the time I had the groceries loaded and rushed out to the parking lot to thank the gentleman he was no where in sight. I will never forget how grateful I was for his generous RAOK.

  9. I love this idea - I saw it on Deb's blog, too. So many great people to pick from I'm going to have trouble making up my mind. And Natalie is a great choice - I think my writing buddies and I pass around her posts more than any other blog. So, yay! :-)

  11. This is an awesome idea! I HAVE been the recipient of RAOK. Once I got my meal paid for from the car in front of me. And another time, my groceries. I've never forgotten it and have done my own knowing how loving it felt to have a stranger bestow kindness on you like that.
