Weekend Survival Kit

Daily Survival Kit
~ Author Unknown

Items to put in kit: Toothpick, Rubber band, Band aid, Pencil, Eraser, Chewing gum, Mint, Candy kiss, Tea bag

Why?

1. Toothpick - to remind you to pick out the good qualities in others
2. Rubber band - to remind you to be flexible: things might not always work out the way you want, but it will work out.
3. Band aid - to remind you to heal hurt feelings; yours and someone else's
4. Pencil - to remind you to list your blessings everyday
5. Eraser - to remind you that everyone makes mistakes, and it's OK
6. Chewing gum - to remind you to stick with it and you can accomplish anything
7. Mint - to remind you that you are worth a mint!
8. Candy kiss - to remind you that everyone needs a kiss or a hug every day
9. Tea bag - to remind you to relax daily and go over your list of blessings
I'm sure most of you have seen this before, but I thought it would be a great way to send you into the weekend - from me to you!

Can you think of any items we should add?

  3. I'd have to add a stapler, to remind myself that sometimes you need to push a little extra hard to get things to stay together.

Okay, that was lame, but something to remind me that hard work really does get the job done in the end!

    Fun post, Shannon!

  9. Love this! Glad you shared it. I would add a pen and small notebook for conversations with others. Everyone has a story to tell and it's fun to capture the details for possible story ideas.

  15. Everytime I see this it reminds me that all those things stressing me out or driving me ca-razy are not really as important as I might have thought. Thanks for posting this, Shannon... I needed the reminder as I head into a weekend with a 5-yr-old birthday party planned! :)

  17. I've never seen this list! I love it. How clever! How about sweetener (I would choose Splenda) to sweeten anything life throws at me. If it's lemons, I'm making some sweetened lemonade!

  18. Cute list. I've seen variations of it before. One I've seen has a penny, but can't remember the why for it. Another I remember seeing M&M's on it, but again can't remember the why for it.

  19. Hi Shannon -

Great list! A tea bag reminds me of a saying I heard that you never know the strength of a woman until she's in hot water.

    Blessings,
    Susan
