A Game of Catch-Up

Well, I must admit to feeling a bit behind. My sporadic summer blogging put a serious kink in my new news/gossip line, as well as my connections to all of you. Therefore, we need to catch up.

Here's what's new with me:

Over the summer, I had a close encounter with "the call". An agent expressed interest in representation and we scheduled a time to visit by phone. Sadly, she had a medical emergency two days before our call and for health reasons is no longer able to provide representation. *sigh* I do still have a couple of fulls out there, though, so keep your fingers and toes crossed for me.

In July, my family went to Disneyland for the first time and then spent a week on the beach in San Diego. We went to Sea World and the Zoo while we were there, and a great time was had by all.

It was a good summer.

Now, what's new with you?
What's new with our bloggy buddies?
What did I miss?

Tell me everything!

That sounds like a fun vacation! That's good news you had an offer of rep even though it didn't quite work out. Where there's one, there's another! Wishing you all the best that your agent soulmate will call you soon! :)

I'm so happy about your agent near miss and the fulls you have out there! Keep going. Good summer here watching my girls discover all sorts of new things....including seeing the ocean for the first time.

Oh no, so close with the call! I wonder if she'll recommend you to anyone in her agency... You never know, could happen. So sorry to hear about her medical emergency but the good news is, if one shows interest, chances are good that more will!

Oh Shannon! That must have been heartbreaking to get that close and have it fall apart for that reason! But if one is interested, hopefully more will too! So congrats on that success!

Your SoCal experience sounds awesome! We went to Florida and did much of the same. Good to have some relaxing family time!

Congratulations on the agent news even if it didn't pan out. That just means it is only a short while before you gain astounding representation imo. Hang in there...your ship is comin' in.

I wondered where you were this summer! It sounds like a busy one for you, and as for me, I am getting geared up for 2 big events. First is the Labor Day Blog BBQ, everyone is invited woo hoo! And the other is the blog tour for my new release. Looking for reviewers if you are interested!

Omigosh, Shannon! That's a close call that I've never heard of before. Holy smokes!!

You were so close to me being at Disneyland. Sounds like you guys had a fun vacation. I'm playing catch up with blogging, too, so I have no news to share :)

Such a close call! I am sure you will have THE CALL soon!

Glad you had fun in California - we were close!

I had a great summer - and a busy one. My school year started Aug 1, so I am in the full swing of trying to balance everything again. Yikes

I'm sorry to hear about the agent. On the positive side, though, it gives you hope that another, healthier, agent will pick up your work.
Disney and the beach sound great.
I sent my kids to several summer camps, joined them for one, and just relaxed.

Thanks for the catch-up. Your vacation sounded sweet!

Nothing new here. We went to reunions and visited family. And also went hiking. It was all fun and games until I got blisters.

Good luck with your manuscript!

Thanks for catching us up on some of your summer excitement, Sharon! Hopefully another agent will come through for you that will work out. I'm hoping for great things for you with your writing!

The July trip sounds wonderful! Glad you had a good summer.

I've been surviving the summer and looking forward to fall and better things.

I hate that everything didn't pan out but STILL, that's AWESOME!! You're that much closer to finding the agent that will take you on. So excited to watch your journey.

As for me, loved summer except for the heat which was extreme in my part of the world. Looking forward to fall.
