I am THRILLED to be a part of the Blog Tour for Courtney Allison Moulton's Wings of the Wicked (Angelfire #2), hosted by The Page Turner's Blog.
Goodreads Blurb:
Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night.
She’s been warned.
Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself.
She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.

Let me start by saying this was everything I'd hoped for in a sequel.
Wings of the Wicked built upon key relationships from Angelfire and added new and important characters for us to fall in love with. Courtney provided more detail and backstory with this one, which I thought helped us understand Ellie and Will more--and their relationship, too.
Ellie really struggles to maintain a normal life: friends, school, activities... while spending her evenings battling evil. Not an easy balance. And the "evil" in Wicked is far, far worse than what she faced before. These reapers are bad, bad, bad.
The tension built consistently toward the ultimate battle and climax, making it harder and harder to put the book down the further I read. I couldn't stop reading, yet I didn't want it to end. And the ending? Whoa!
I am not a fan of reviews that contain spoilers, so you'll have to trust me when I say that this was even better than Angelfire. I absolutely cannot wait for book 3.

Courtney's debut ANGELFIRE was a 2011 Indie Next Pick.
I reviewed ANGELFIRE when it first came out HERE. In fact, I reviewed it twice. It was one of the first ARCs I ever received, and I got so excited about it that I posted my first review WAY before it was released. *embarrassing* So I posted it again nearer its actual release.

Winds of the Wicked is certainly densely plotted! Oooh poor Ellie - this sequel puts her through the emotional mill and then some! Yay! Good luck Courtney, all the best with your fab books!
