A smile. An encouraging word. A thoughtful gesture. Each day people interact with us, help, and make our day a bit brighter and full. This is especially true in the Writing Community.
Take a second to think about writers you know, like the critique partner who works with you to improve your manuscript. The writing friend who listens, supports and keeps you strong when times are tough. The author who generously offers council, advice and inspiration when asked.
So many people take the time to make us feel special, don't they? They comment on our blogs, re-tweet our posts, chat with us on forums and wish us Happy Birthday on Facebook.
Kindness ROCKS!
To commemorate the release of their book The Emotion Thesaurus, Becca and Angela at The Bookshelf Muse are hosting a TITANIC Random Act Of Kindness BLITZ. And because I think KINDNESS is contagious, I'm participating too!
I am randomly choosing Natalie Aguirre. Natalie is one of the best out there at author interviews--she's amazing! AND she is uber-generous with her giveaways! Almost every interview she does--and there are A LOT of them--she gives away the book. I adore her for SO MANY reasons
Natalie, for my RAOK gift, I'm offering any book or pre-order of your choice, including the Emotion Thesaurus!
I really appreciate Natalie, who blogs at Literary Rambles. If you have a minute, please stop in and tell her how awesome she is!
Do you know someone special that you'd like to randomly acknowledge?
Don't be shy--come join us and celebrate! Send them an email, give them a shout out, or show your appreciation in another way. Kindness makes the world go round. :)
Becca and Angela have a special RAOK gift waiting for you as well, so hop on over to The Bookshelf Muse to pick it up.
Have you ever participated in or been the recipient of a Random Act Of Kindness? Let me know in the comments!

This is a wonderful idea! I am excited about the book release for Angela and Becca. Can't wait to read it.
Have a happy day, amigo! :)
Yay! Natalie is so great, but wait a minute! I think you were HER RAOK blitzer... did you guys plan this? ESPn? ;p good stuff~ :D
Congratulations on being #RAOKSBlitz(ed) by Natalie and visa versa.
Thanks so much Shannon. That's so funny that we both picked each other. And gave each other books.
I'll e-mail you in a few days after I decide on my book.
Great news and congrats to Natalie's well deserved award. She does rock. I have been the recipient of several random acts of kindness, some of which I wouldn't have survived my single-mom-with-five-kids days. One day while I was busy loading up groceries on the checkout belt, returning gum that my four year old grabbed off the shelf and telling my seven year old to stay put, a nice gentleman, who frankly, I couldn't even tell you what he looked like, did the most amazing thing. When the total came up and I went digging for my food stamps(a horribly embarrassing thing to have to do), the cashier informed me that the bill had been paid already. When I asked her what she meant she just said, someone already paid for your groceries. By the time I had the groceries loaded and rushed out to the parking lot to thank the gentleman he was no where in sight. I will never forget how grateful I was for his generous RAOK.
Awww, you and Natalie are sharing the love today! Such a wonderful ROAK idea from Becca and Angela. Pam - that's a great story!
Yay Natalie!! Great choice.
GREAT choice--yay Natalie!!
These are such fun to hop around to! And Natalie IS super awesome.
What a great idea! :)
Yay for Natalie and book giveaways!
I'm loving blogging so much today!
Natalie is a great choice!
I love this idea - I saw it on Deb's blog, too. So many great people to pick from I'm going to have trouble making up my mind. And Natalie is a great choice - I think my writing buddies and I pass around her posts more than any other blog. So, yay! :-)
Wonderful choice! Literary Rambles was one of the first blogs I found. I love it!
This is an awesome idea! I HAVE been the recipient of RAOK. Once I got my meal paid for from the car in front of me. And another time, my groceries. I've never forgotten it and have done my own knowing how loving it felt to have a stranger bestow kindness on you like that.

I was over at Natalie's blog a little while ago. How cool is that that you picked each other for the RAOK Blitz?!
I adore Natalie! I have since before she even had a blog. :) Nice job, Shannon!
Congrats to Natalie! She completely deserves this.
And congrats to Angela and Becca on the book.
Natalie has such great posts at Literary Rambles. She is awesome!
I just got RAOKed by Lynda at W.I.P. - what a lovely idea it is. You've come up with a good one, I'll have to think what I can do for someone now :)
Natalie is awesome! :)
You and Natalie must be kindred spirits. (And both of you are wholly desrving of these awards!)
Natalie is amazing--I don't know how she accomplishes all she does AND be a lawyer. I think she perhaps is a superhero. :) Great pick, Shannon--and thank you for your generosity! *hugs Shannon*

Natalie's flipping awesome. Great choice! :)
I just read Natalie's post where she offered you a RAOK shout out and she suggested we stop by. I've never visited your site before, but it looks fabulous! I'm also a teacher - I teach middle school English - and I'm a mom of two. Nice to meet you! I just signed up to follow you! :)
For you...it's not a random act. It's an everyday thing for you! :)
Aw! I love this Shannon! Yay Natalie!
