Secret Words

"I am a writer: I am a magician, conjuring something into being where nothing was before. Studying my art, learning the secret words to bring forth a world from the hat of my imagination. The hand is quicker than the eye. Did you see the trick behind my words? Or did I do it well enough that it all seems like magic? May I become better and better so that my craft does not show and my stories amaze and entertain."
~K.L. Oberst

May your day be filled with writing magic.
May the hat of your imagination overflow with secret words.
Go ahead . . . amaze and entertain!

How is your magic lately?

"I am conjuring something where nothing was before." Love that. Even for us folks who write realistic fiction, it's true.

Happy Hump Day!

I love this message for so many reasons. My daughter is very much into make-believe lately and writing stories. I'm going to share this with her. :)

Love the quote. I'm like everyone else whose magic needs some help. First drafts are hard for me.

It's amazing how magical the mind is when I actually put pen to paper and WRITE! I love it when I think of something new or see a slight twist in plot. I love it when words come together to tickle the tongue. Can you tell I love writing? Isn't it so magical?! LOVE THE QUOTE!!! THANKS for sharing!

My writing magic lately has been cut into with real life magic! We're buying a house and it's TAKEN OVER EVERYTHING! HA. But I can't even complain because it's all magic and I'm lucky to be a part of any of it!

Love that quote! Especially the part about conjuring something into being where nothing was before.

My magic is humming along in a new WIP, one I didn't mean to start but it came to be of its own volition. Hope your magic is humming too.

My magic has been muted by the craziness of life lately. I'm working on nursing it back though. :)

My magic is taking a bit of a break after the busy month of April. Will get back in the swing of things in a few days. Have a wonderful day!
