Oblivion
by Sasha Dawn

Blurb:
Lisa McMann's Dead to You meets Kate Ellison's The Butterfly Clues in a psychological thriller full of romance, intrigue, and mystery.

One year ago, Callie was found in an abandoned apartment, scrawling words on the wall: "I KILLED HIM. His blood is on my hands. His heart is in my soul. I KILLED HIM." But she remembers nothing of that night or of the previous thirty-six hours. All she knows is that her father, the reverend at the Church of the Holy Promise, is missing, as is Hannah, a young girl from the parish. Their disappearances have to be connected and Callie knows that her father was not a righteous man.

Since that fateful night, she's been plagued by graphomania -- an unending and debilitating compulsion to write. The words that flow from Callie's mind and through her pen don't seem to make sense -- until now.

As the anniversary of Hannah's vanishing approaches, more words and memories bubble to the surface and a new guy in school might be the key to Callie putting together the puzzle. But digging up the secrets she's buried for so long might be her biggest mistake.

 GUEST POST by Sasha Dawn

When I’m about to finish a book:

·         My girls are late to dance class.
·         I don’t answer my phone.
·         Texts go unanswered, too.
·         Dinner? What’s that? “Turn on the oven, girls. I’m sure we have something frozen to heat.”
·         I’ll forget to feed the dogs, too, so I’m glad I’m not the only one in charge of them.
·         The bathroom mirror resembles a bulletin board, given all my post-its.
·         I silently curse everyone who told me I could never do it. This is likely no one, but I feel a sense of vengeance in accomplishment.
·         I ignore the layer of dust on the furniture for one more day.
·         Joshua becomes Mom.
·         I don’t get the mail.

When I finish the book:

·         I call my writer friends, demand we toast to our collective achievements, and pretend I haven’t ignored their calls or texts for two days…or weeks.
·         I design a t-shirt for promo. I will never order this t-shirt, but it’s the thought that counts.
·         I ignore the layer of dust on the furniture for one more day.
·         The next book is already on the tips of my fingers.
·         I email it to my agent, only to tell her not to read it because I’ve already sent another revision.
·         I pour a glass of red wine. I probably won’t drink it because it’s likely seven in the morning, but it’s a metaphor for success.
·         The tap shoes come out. Maybe I’ll choreograph. Or maybe I just want to make some noise.
·         I design a dream house I’ll likely never build.
·         Chick flick on, body on sofa, puppy curled up at my side.
·         I mentally interview actors to secure roles for the movie version. Matt Damon always wins.
