What Next?

"What in the world would we do without our libraries?"
~ Katharine Hepburn

Okay, guys, I need your help. My TBR pile is out of control. I just finished Paranormalcy and I loved it. *sigh* Oh, how I loved it! So... what next?

Here are a few in my pile:

  • Linger
  • I am Number Four
  • Beautiful Creatures
  • The Forest of Hands and Teeth
  • Rules of Attraction
  • Num8ers
  • Sea Change
  • Veracity
  • Halo
As you can see, I have too many wonderful choices. So you get to decide which one I read next.

Which one do you suggest?

I've heard of some of these, but don't actually know the plot line, so this is kinda shooting in the dark.

If I were faced with this pile, I'd probably pick Halo or Rules of Attraction.

(Paranormalcy was wonderful, wasn't it?)

Hmmm...so tough. I don't have Halo yet, but I want to read it. It looks and sounds awesome.

Dude - read Halo then let me know your thoughts okay??? Okay!

Ok-- I am so out of it. I've not heard of any of them!!

The only one I've read is the Forest of Hands and Teeth. I do have Num8ers in my TBR pile too!! Too many booksies so little time! Sigh.

I've read: Linger, Beautiful Creatures, TFOHAT, Rules of Attraction, and Sea Change.

I would go with either Linger or Rules of Attraction. ROA isn't as good as Perfect Chemistry, but I liked it (and Linger) better than anything else on the list.

I hear you about the list. I've got three books in the mail. One I'm waiting to ship. Nine new books sitting on my shelves, and tons I want to reread. I've got to seriously quit buying(and borrowing) books for the rest of the year.

Yeay, right!

Happy reading, Shannon. :D

I am 2.5 books away from I AM NUMBER FOUR and then LINGER is after that.

Halo--because I've been thinking of checking that one out myself. :)

Linger first.
Save The Forest...for October when I have ZOMBIE WEEK on my blog.

Hi Shannon!

I say go with NUM8ERS.

Me, I'm taking a quick break from YA with an adult turn-of-century novel.

Jayne said...

I haven't heard of any, so I would go for alphabetical order!

Elana Johnson said...

Okay, I started Num8ers at least three times. Couldn't get into it. I don't know why, I'd wanted it forever.

BC was...a bit slow for me. As was Linger. But they're both worth reading.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth is one of my absolute FAVES. As is Rules of Attraction. Those are both awesome.

I want I am Number Four and Halo, so I can't comment as I haven't read those.

And I've never even heard of Sea Change and Veracity... Googling my library right now!

Okay, you have a lot on your list that I'm considering, but I want to tell you that Rules of Attraction changed the way I look at YA literature and writing in general. After reading it, I was forced to re-evaluate everything I thought I liked in a book. It's really edgy, but if that doesn't bother you, I'd totally look in that direction. Until I read Hunger Games, it was the best book I'd read in years.

I haven't read any of them, so I don't have any advice. I'm going to stop back by later and see what everyone else suggested. Some of those books are in my TBR pile too.

I want to read Paranormacly! *sigh*

Well, I'd say Linger - because I don't really know anything about the other, except for Forest of Hands and Teeth, which was a weird one, because I liked the story but disliked the main character, and could never decide what I thought about it.

Good luck deciding! :)

Shannon, gotta love a healthy TBR pile. I haven't read any of this, so, why not just close your eyes and point? Kind of like pin the tail on the donkey. Wherever your finger lands is the winner. :)

Happy to see you, always. :)

I haven't read any of those! Looks like you have a terrific reading list and you'll have a great book no matter what you choose :) I guess I would say, what do you feel like? Horror, suspense, romance...

I haven't read any of these:( It looks like I need to cruise through Amazon this evening.

They're all so great! I'm not sure I could pick an order. :)

Have fun!!

I haven't read the majority of these, but NUM8ERS has always fascinated me. It's definitely high on my to-read list!

My advice is almost the same as Elana's. Linger was slow for me as was Beautiful Creatures. I devoured The FOHANDT. And I was looking at purchasing I am Number Four this week to read. Haven't heard of hte others.

I think you should just pick a number and grab one. They all sound so good!

Isn't it wonderful that there are so many good books in our TBR piles? Mine keeps growing, but I'd say that's a great problem to have.

My vote is The Forest of Hands and Teeth. That's in my pile, too!

Happy reading!

Ooh, most of those are sat on my shelf right now. I'd suggest Linger. But it's so hard to decide since I love The Forest of Hands and Teeth...and I Am Number Four. Oh all of them. Sorry, I'm no help at all. lol.

It's a tie! Beautiful Creatures or The Forest of Hands and Teeth!

I know what it is like to have TBR stack! And I'm off to receive another right away at Book Club. Going to sound cliche, but follow your heart on what to read next. Let us know what you pick!

I haven't read Halo though I have heard FAB things. Linger and BC was pretty good and I really enjoyed SC and RA. This is a tough choice.

Jemi Fraser said...

Good choices! Those are all on my wishlist too. Hmmm... I think I'd start with Linger. I think.

DL Hammons said...

Sorry...can't be much help here. Not much of a YA reader. I'd go for the one with the largest page count! :)

Ooo Beautiful Creatures is great, so is Rules of Attraction ;o) Those are my votes. Have fun!! Great books on that list ;o)
