“The Few”The easy roads are crowded,
And the level roads are jammed;
The pleasant little rivers
With the drifting folks are crammed.
But off yonder where it’s rocky,
Where you get a better view,
You will find the ranks are thinning
And the travelers are few.
Where the going’s smooth and pleasant
You will always find the throng,
For the man, more’s the pity,
Seems to like to drift along.
But the steeps that call for courage,
And the task that’s hard to do,
In the end result in glory
For the never-wavering few-Edgar A Guest
We may have a rocky climb in order to get where we're going, but the view and the company along the way are unbeatable.
Thanks for the support this week. You all mean the world to me.

The worlds a brighter place with you around Shannon! I loved the poem up top, it was beautiful and oh so true.
I love that I'm never alone. Someone is always listening and always understands what stage of life I'm in. It's nice having that.
I agree, I love the support. =) It's so great to know I'm not alone in this thing!

I love Guest my dad had us memorize the poem "Myself" when we were kids. I've never forgotten it. Thanks for the uplifting thought.
I love the blogging world too! It takes a solitary and sometimes discouraging thing and turns all of us into a community.
I always love the inspiring quotes you post. I'm glad to be your friend, even if it is just over the internets.
I love the poem.
The blogging community is great--it's amazing being around so many other people, even if it's online!
You are one inspiring lady! Love that poem.

And you AREN'T alone! We love you!
It is an awesome feeling, to know you're not alone and there will always be someone who gets it or will celebrate or have your back on writery things!
I agree. My life has expanded and the world has shrunk through blogging. It's great to have so many people who "get it."
The poem is a great reminder to keep slogging through the hard work. It's all worth it in the end. And, yes, this blogging community is a wonderful support.
Thank you for the lovely inspirational poem!! I'll always be grateful for the blogging community too - such support and camaraderie and such talent everywhere and such fun too! Take care

That's a fantastic poem and so fitting for this journey we're all on.
Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't have given up months ago when the initial naivete was shattered if I hadn't made the blogging friends I have.
Ok, enough. That's way too deep for a Friday. ;o)
Amen! And right back at you!
