The Bookshelf Muse
As promised yesterday, today I reveal the second site that does not leave my desktop when I'm researching, prepping, or writing-- also known as my "Angela file".
In fairness, it should be called my Angela AND Becca file. When I first started following The Bookshelf Muse, Becca had taken a leave of absence. She recently returned, and now they are back to double-the-fun over there.
Here is another key to writerly bliss.
Instructions for becoming a happier writer:
Go here, to the Bookshelf Muse blog. On the right side you will see multiple thesauri: Emotion; Setting; Color, Textures and Shapes; Symbolism. Read and learn!
Just like Shannon Messenger, The Bookshelf Muse provides very wise and uber-useful writing tips, and all for FREE. Don't miss out!

Angela is awesome! I totally agree!!!!
Have a great weekend, Shannon!
I seriously need to get over there - I've been there several times, but never give it the in-depth study it deserves. :)
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for the great recommendation.
I keep The Bookshelf Muse in my sidebar (it's one of the first blogs I discovered when I started blogging), and I've used the Emotion Thesaurus on many occasions. But I never thought about creating a file for this (or for Shannon Messenger's).
Great idea, Shannon O! (I'd rather call you that than Shannon #2!)
The Bookshelf Muse is one of my favorite hang outs!
Oh, I know, it's one of my fave sites! What would we do without them???
Happy weekend,
Karen
Awesome site!
: )
I'll have to check this out! Thanks :)
I totally agree. I use Angela's site constantly when I'm putting my finishing touches on a revision.
Angela's a total hero, and some publisher should convert her blog into a book!
Wow, I am..speechless. Thanks everyone for all the fantastic words of kindness here. I am so pleased this resource helps you.
We are definitely looking for a publisher. In fact, we had one contact US out of the blue in regards to our blog, and while that didn't work out, we are planning on getting this baby into a book for all our wonderful supporters!
Thanks again (and especially Shannon)! You are all wonderful!

What a great link - thanks! On the days I just can't write in my notebook I let myself off the hook as long as I enter one good word. Now I'll know where to find those words. :-)
I love stopping by The Bookshelf Muse.
Blog reading has been beneficial to my writing.
Have a great weekend.
Cool...more ammunition!! :)
Wow, Shannon, you never seem to run out of great resources. Thank you for this!
I love the thesauri on The Bookshelf Muse blog. I bookmarked it a long time ago. So helpful!
This link and Shannon Messenger's are great links. I read them too.
The Bookshelf Muse is a blog every writer should subscribe to!
Will head over!
How's your writing coming?
