Word Stones

"Like stones, words are laborious and unforgiving, and the fitting of them together, like the fitting of stones, demands great patience and strength of purpose and particular skill."
~ Edmund Morrison

I haven't been particularly patient or purposeful lately, which means I haven't been too skillful, either. My goal this weekend: to sit my butt down and do some serious revision.

Hopefully my husband, three children, two cats and a dog will cooperate. What are the odds? Hmmm . . .

What is your goal this weekend?

Maybe I can get a bit done on Sunday, but I was gone last weekend and need to get some stuff done around the house. On Saturday I need to take my daughter to her volunteer group and then I'm going to a SCBWI meet up in the afternoon. I'm not very connected with the people in our SCBWI group so I'm glad I'm going.

I'm right there with you! Cyber luck to you!!

Plus, I need to chop out a good section of a book I'm reading for a publisher due out at the end of this month. And I plan on getting some much needed rest after a long winter of illness in our house.

I'm going to work on revisions. I made some changes in my first chapter based on agents' comments, and talk about a massive ripple effect. So I'm going to be busy for a while doing that. But that's good. It means I can give my new first draft lots of distance, which is something I'm usually bad at.

I'm not even pretending to be ambitious. I'll be going to a chess tourney for my boys. It's more exciting that it sounds. Then, I hope to view at least two movies at the theater, and we're starting spring break, which makes me feel like ordering pizza and playing board games.
Happy writing!

Goals this weekend are to get in some serious reading (reduce the tbr), make way around to fave blogs to see what's been up-and write a couple more chapters for my MG. Been sloooow going today but getting there. Hope you getting in some serious revisions!

I hope you accomplished everything you wanted to this weekend. I'm behind on my blog reading, so I'm trying to do some catching up at the moment.

I love, love, love this quote. I'm putting it up somewhere and finding a post on my blog that would fit with it. When I'm home, I'm sharing it on Facebook too.
