Comic Relief

I'm working on critiques for my crit partners today, but I'll leave you with a little comic relief. I guess I'm in the mood for cartoons this weekend.

That is sooooo me! When I first buying ya, I felt the urge to justify my choices...research. Now I don't think I would buy a grown up book, unless it was written by one of my writing buddies.

Good for you! I still read some adult, but MG and YA are my favorites. :-)

Ha, ha! That's me too. I bought "my daughter" the Roald Dahl collection for Christmas. I've been enjoying them. ;)

Tee hee! I always think the kids in the aisles of the MG and YA section wonder what I'm doing there...

Perfect! Yep - I don't have kids so it is interesting when this occurs. I just smile as they stare at me oddly after they say my kids will love the selections and I inform them I don't have any. I KNOW they are wondering if they are gifts or such so I just continue to smile. I love a good mystery, even if it is a simple one. ;o)

In college, I was embarrassed to sit in those little library chairs. Now they're like a second home. :)

Haha yeah that's me!

That's me too! I love books from all age groups - even adult :)

Ha! I figure I know more about the YA aisles than the booksellers at this point.

Ha ha. I remember riding the NYC subway reading Tuck Everlasting and feeling like I needed to explain to all the other passengers that i was an English teacher. Not just a very immature adult.

Hee hee.

Opposite of me, though. When I get to the B&N counter, I slap down my educator discount card and say, "Yep. All of these are for the kids."

I brought The Lightning Thief with me to the gym (cardio day), and one of the people commented on how I was such a good parent for reading the same books as my kids...mmm, yeah. It's more like they have to fight me for their own books...

Hahahahaaha! That's going to be me when I'm older :D

I feel like this every time I check out books at the library by the pile!

Such a good comic! Relating to Tracy's story about The Lightning Thief, there was a kid in front of me at Borders with the first three books, and I couldn't keep from gushing about how great they were, so his mom asked, "Are you a teacher?" HAHA, no, I just like to read "kid's" books.

More recently (as in today) we were talking about unreliable narrators at my conference, and everyone was giving these literary examples in adult literature, but all I could think about was Liar!

Love this! I feel the same way, but when I visit my local public library (after I quit working as a Librarian). Perfectly me!

I'm so getting back into all those kids books, plus MG and YA. I can't wait to read them with my daughter!

lol! Oh I love this! I think the only books we've bought in the last year have been children and YA. For the kids? Phaw!

Haha! Very good. Although, I do buy these books under the pretense that they're for my daughter, and will even gift them to her first. But usually, I'm the one reading them first. I can't help myself. I know I have a problem.

Thanks for the laugh.

I can totally relate, being a lover of young adult books!

my kids are like "can we go now" after sitting in the children section forever on a sat.
