Getting Past the Gatekeeper

I feel compelled to share with you one of my favorite industry blogs. Many of you often refer to Brendan Deneen and Rachelle Gardner, both fabulous sites, but I have another favorite to add.

Getting Past the Gatekeeper is hosted by an unknown literary agent and is full of the good, bad, and ugly on all things industry related: the do's and don'ts of querying, self-publishing, social networking, publicizing/marketing your book, E-Readers... the works. She (at least I think it's a she) answers reader questions and is absolutely hilarious most of the time. I never get tired of it.

It's a truckload full of good info! Check it out. Leave some comments (There are never as many comments given as the posts deserve!)

Do you have any other favorite industry-related blogs to add?

Gatekeeper is one of my favorite blogs too in addition to Nathan Bransfords classic agent blog. :) I think I like both of these because they are more hopeful, less snarky.

Shannon, truly appreciative of the introduction. Sounds like one to add to my blog list! I keep an eye on Michael Hyatt for bigger-picture marketing stuff, and Nettie Hartsock for the same reason. I'm an avid follower of Rachelle's wonderful blog. But I'm very intrigued by this one. Thanks again -- have a super week!

With all these comments, this blog post is now a real resource on agent blogs. Thanks for doing this. I just looked at the Gatekeeper blog and I agree that, as with Nathan Bransford's blog, it strikes the right tone. You want an agent blog to be constructive but realistic.

Diana Paz said...

I LOVE her blog, and I've seen your occasional comment :) From what I infer from following her, she prefers if everyone keeps her veil of anonymity for appearances sake, even though it is not difficult to discover her identity ;)

I also love Mary Cole on kidlit, but my other agent faves don't have blogs.
