Today, the mountainous journey toward publication may seem impossible. The path feels too rocky, the climb too steep, the end goal unreachable. But is it?
How do we know that this time our CP's won't finally give us the green light or that we won't have that aha! moment we've been waiting for tomorrow or that the next call won't be "the one"?
We DON'T know what's waiting for us at the top of the next rise.
So keep climbing!

This was cute Shannon! Thank you so much for sharing!!! I feel like climbing today, I don't feel the defeat that I've felt for weeks, I'm glad the clouds are breaking up and I'm able to fly on through!
Thank you!! I will keep climbing! I've been doing pretty well these past few months, let's hope that continues!
Ugh. Thanks for this. Big time.
I am afraid of heights, but even more afraid of failing.
oh! Man i HOPE my journey is mostly a sign disguising the lenght. That would be AWESOME!
I'm with Falen, I hope that cartoon is for real! That I'm further than I feel right now. Thanks for the pick me up this morning, definately needed it :)
Lots of inspirational posts today - but hey, some days we can use as many as we can get!
Climbing, although on me knees lately. Here for you, too, Shannon. You're wonderful.
That's fantastic! Thanks!
Great post and great cartoon. Thanks for reminding us. :)
Will do. Let me just hook up my carabiner to your rope. ;)
Thanks for the encouragement!
Yes, Yes! We keep climbing, because we'll NEVER get there if we don't keep trying.
And we hold hands with each other the whole way. And we cry because it's hard and it hurts. And we sing.
That is so lovely *hugs* thanks :)
Just think when you reach the top how you'll feel and then all the hours you spent getting there will be forgotten.
So true! Your posts are always so encouraging! I'm going to have to check out those cartoons ... :)
i <3 you.
you are such a spot of sunshine in this blogosphere!
Thanks for the much-needed laugh and encouragement : )
And don't look down! :)
Hi Shannon -
Love the cartoon! I must visit that site.
Even if those distant mountains are there, taking one step at a time is all we can do. For me, that translates into setting intermediate goals. The small successes give me encouragement to persevere.
Blessings,
Susan :)
So true! I'll have to tell you what has happened to a couple of my friends regarding the publishing business (all good)!
Very true- my husband has a great line I keep in the back of my mind.
We don't know how your story ends.
So I just have to keep climbing!
Thanks for the encouragement Shannon. I think I slid down the mountain a bit today, but I'll keep on climbing. :)
I agree. You are a ray of sunshine :)
Thanks so much! Have a wonderful weekend:)
Blessings,
Karen
My dad use to say you only fail when you quit trying, soooo keep climbing!
Have a great weekend!
I feel that way some days. A great reminder to keep my mind on the current task. Thanks!
Gotta' keep climbing--I want to see the view from the top! Thanks for the inspiration, Shannon :-)
Thanks, Shannon! I felt my 300 word picture book manuscript was a mountain today...I just can't get the meter right and keep the story perfect...UGH...I put on my mountain boots and climbing belt and try again tomorrow.
Thanks for the encouragement Shannon! I am continuously sliding down, but I'll make it one day (I hope!).
I just got a second wind. Thanks Shannon! You are so good at that. :)
LOVE your encouraging blog.
Thanks!!

Ha, Still cracking up over here. Thats too funny (the pic)
Keep climbing - I need to internalize this. I'm not even looking towards publication right now - I just want to finish my book.
So true #2. It always seems that right when I get to the point where it feels like I can't. climb. anymore! I get boost I need to keep climbing.
Looking back helps too. Seeing how far you've come, and knowing you'd be wasting all that effort if you don't keep going. :)
Have a great weekend!
Super cartoon . . . and so inspiring! I'm saving it for my inspiration wall where I have things that give me hope and make me laugh.
So true! I love the image that you picked. The climb is hard, but conditions us for when we do get to the top, and need to now get to the next peak. I don't think it ever stops. We just may have to rest in a cave from time to time.
Great cartoon! And can be applied to almost any situation in life. Thanks for posting this! :)
Oh I loved this as I can apply this to so many areas in my life right now! Don't I wish this WIP will be the one!
That was great...and timely too. Needed the encouraging bump this morning.
I think we all need to bookmark this post. Isn't it the truth?
So inspirational and fitting for anyone with a challenge ahead. Thanks for the friendly "push"! ^_^
Thanks for the encouragement, Shannon. I love that cartoon!
